Quick Summary: Virtual Pet is a casual offline-friendly pet simulation game.
We collect minimal data needed to run the game, serve ads, and provide optional online
features like the global leaderboard. We never sell your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
Display Name — Optional. You may choose a nickname when submitting your score to the global leaderboard.
Avatar — Optional. An emoji you select as your profile icon for the leaderboard.
Pet Names — Names you give to your virtual pets. Stored locally on your device.
1.2 Information Automatically Collected
Device Information — Device model, operating system version, language, and country.
Game Progress — Your pet levels, coins, diamonds, achievements, and mini-game scores. Stored locally on your device.
Anonymous User ID — A randomly generated ID (via Firebase Anonymous Authentication) for leaderboard submissions.
Analytics Data — Anonymous usage statistics (game sessions, screen views, feature usage) via Firebase Analytics.
Advertising ID — A resettable identifier used by Google AdMob to serve relevant ads.
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

3. Third-Party Services
Virtual Pet uses the following third-party services that may collect information:
3.1 Google AdMob
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect your Advertising ID
and device information to serve personalized or non-personalized ads.
We use Firebase Anonymous Authentication to generate a unique ID for leaderboard
submissions. No personal information is required.
3.4 Firebase Firestore
We use Firebase Firestore to store leaderboard data (display name, avatar, high score,
anonymous ID). This data is publicly visible on the global leaderboard.
4. Data Storage & Security
Local Storage — Game progress is saved locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences.
Backup Files — Optional automatic backups are stored in your device's app-private storage. You may also export/import backup files manually.
Cloud Storage — Only leaderboard data (display name, avatar, high score) is stored on Firebase servers.
Security — We use industry-standard security practices. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
⚠️ Important: Your game progress is stored locally. If you uninstall the app
or lose your device without a backup, your progress may be lost permanently. We recommend
using the in-app backup feature regularly.
5. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share data with:
Google AdMob — For advertising purposes
Firebase — For analytics, authentication, and leaderboard
Legal Authorities — If required by law
6. Children's Privacy
Virtual Pet is designed for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK).
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal
information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

7.1 All Users
Reset Advertising ID — Via Android Settings → Google → Ads
Opt out of personalized ads — Via same menu
Delete local data — Uninstall the app or clear app data
Delete leaderboard entry — Contact us at the email below
7.2 EU/UK Users (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/UK, you have the right to:
Access your personal data
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Object to processing
Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
7.3 California Users (CCPA)
California residents have additional rights under CCPA, including the right to know what data is collected and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
8. Data Retention
Local game data — Stored as long as the app is installed
Leaderboard data — Retained while your account is active
Analytics data — Retained per Firebase policy (up to 14 months)
9. International Data Transfers
Our third-party services (Google, Firebase) may transfer data to servers located in
various countries, including the United States. These transfers comply with applicable
data protection laws.
